Robert E Coogan Jr, owner of R.E. Coogan Heating Inc. is located in Warwick, RI. He has 3 daughters, Justyne (33-Stay At Home Mom), Lindsay (28-School Teacher), and Kaitlin (26-Providence Police Officer). Robert met his current wife, Marybel, in Colombia and they have a son Blake (6) together. He signed up for the US Navy on his 17th Birthday (12/28/81). Robert was on active duty from August 1982 to August 1985, stationed at various naval stations such as Great Lakes, Norfolk, Philadelphia and Mayport. For most of that time he was stationed on the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Saratoga CV-60, where he received his start in engineering and mechanical experience along with schooling, training, and was assigned to the boiler repair shop. After being honorably discharged from active duty, Robert was stationed for 2 years in the Reserves at Newport Naval Base and 5 ½ years in the Army National Guard 103rd Heavy Field Artillery. He started working for heating and oil companies up until the early 90’s.In 1994 he went back to school and worked full time at a machine shop with the dream and goal to become a lawyer. Robert decided to start doing plumbing and heating for extra money and realized it could be profitable. His business grew and became an S-Corp in 1995.

After achieving many goals and dreams such as 3 marathons (R.I., Chicago & Boston), a full Ironman in Panama City, FL (which is a 2.5 mile swim in the ocean, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run) along with traveling multiple times to Colombia and Argentina. His daughters were living with him for almost 6.5 years, and he really focused on growing the business. Seven years ago from now Robert became determined and developed a vision along with setting goals to grow the business to serve and reach more customers and plans on doing so for at least the next 20 years. He had set goals and realized that he could not and did not want to be the “main worker” with helpers, that he would need to change, learn and seek ways to grow. At the age of 34 Robert became a State Mechanical Inspector, and was appointed by the Town of Exeter as a Part Time Inspector. This past year Robert was accepted and completed the Business Skills for the Construction Trades at the Roger Williams University to further his skills for business owners. R.E. Coogan Heating Inc. is expanding and doing more things, with more to come!
